      Kadal Osai CR actively participates in voluntary works and relief activities during times of disaster.

1. Disaster Preparedness survey with CEMCA: Kadal Osai FM worked on a disaster preparedness survey project with CEMCA to understand the level of disaster preparedness in the region. A team of volunteers were trained by CEMCA on survey and data entry procedure and then went to different villages and areas to collect data to understand how prepared the people were in case of a disaster. 2. Contribution during major cyclones like Burevi, Gaja: Kadal Osai FM stayed operational during the entire impact period of recent natural disasters in the region such as the Burevi cyclone and the Gaja cyclone. Even though the entire Island was without electricity for around 4 days, the community radio continued its broadcast through backup energy sources to keep the people updated about the situation and to share important announcements and information.
